DESCRIPTION: Takes x-ray images of specified body areas as directed on Doctor's orders, following established procedures. Prepares patient and adjusts equipment as necessary for the performance of x-ray examination. Identify and instructs patient regarding procedures. Develops films; may, on occasion perform x-ray reception duties; assists in care and maintenance of departmental equipment; attends in-services and continuing education as scheduled; takes "on call" hours as well as scheduled shifts as directed by supervisor; works scheduled weekends and holidays. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. Graduate from accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must maintain registry with ARRT on an annual basis. Must keep current with CEU credits as required by the ARRT. Minimum of 2 years recent working experience as a radiologic technologist. Incumbent must have experience with a C-Arm in the Surgery Department and to work independently. Have some experience in Mammography. Must be willing to work evenings and holidays and take on call hours as directed. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or 25% of own body weight, whichever is less, without self injury or injury to others as well as ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Stooping, bending, twisting and sitting also required. |
