DESCRIPTION: Registered Nurse who is available for a varied schedule to fill in for absences and census fluctuations. Plan and provide nursing care to patients in ER, ICU, OB or Med-Surg settings according to established standards and practices. REQUIREMENTS: Current Alaska RN license. Current BLS required with ACLS certification preferred. ACLS will be required within one year of hire. Possess speaking, listening and basic writing skills required to effectively communicate with others and to document care given. Must keep current with CEU and licensing requirements of Alaska. Numerical ability is required to calculate drug doses. Preferred experience in ER/ICU or OB areas. One year experience in Med/Surg. Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 pounds or 25% of own body weight without self-injury as well as ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, stoop and sit, ability to organize tasks. Must be available for 12 hour night or day shifts, with the ability to cover for staff when off on vacation or sick calls. |
