DESCRIPTION: The primary function of the Clinical Applications Coordinator is to provide project management, software support, and training for clinical systems and applications as well as special projects assigned by the Director of Patient Care Services. The incumbent adheres to all hospital-wide policies and procedures as well as complies with established standards and objectives. The main component of the position is to set up and maintain the nursing/Point of Care (POC) modules in the CPSI Hospital Information System. Builds effective relationships within and outside the organization, works collaboratively with others, focuses on customer satisfaction, and demonstrates innovation and creativity in the provision of services. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and conducting training of other staff members as well as physicians, as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:  Current Alaska RN license preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Informatics/computer systems or related field, preferred. One-year experience in clinical nursing area required with 5 years preferred. Demonstrated practical knowledge/experience of PC business software including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications is required. Knowledge of computer network operations with minimum of two years experience working in a computerized clinical system of other information systems environment preferred. Possess speaking, listening and basic writing skills required to effectively work in collaboration with others on projects and teaching of clinical staff. Must have demonstrated good keyboarding and data entry skills.  Must keep current with CEU's and licensing requirements of Alaska. Demonstrate ability to lift up to 50 pounds without self-injury, as well as ability to walk and stand for prolong periods of time, including stooping and sitting. Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Availability to work various shifts as needed. Continued interest in direct patient care/bedside nursing desirable.
